Definition/Scope: (AAP-6) An area between two adjacent horizontal or vertical areas into which units are not to proceed unless certain safety measures can be fulfilled. OLD VERSION That space controlled by a third-party neutral force that enforces the parameters specified by international agreement, cease-fire agreement, or United Nations mandate; an area extending normally to approximately 2 km on either side of the IEBL in which military forces and weapons are prohibited without specific approval of SFOR.
