XVIII Airborne Corps
Definition/Scope: The mission of the XVIII Airborne Corps is as a strategic crisis response force, manned and trained to deploy rapidly by air, sea and land anywhere in the world, prepared to fight upon arrival and win. The XVII ABN Corps is one of four (I, III, V) Army Corps. The XVIII ABN Corps - the Army’s largest warfighting organization - is the only airborne corps in the defense establishment of the United States and exercises control over approximately 88,000 thousand soldiers assigned to the 3d ID (M), Fort Stewart, GA; 10th MTN (L), Fort Drum, NY, 82d ABN DIV, Fort Bragg; 101st ABN DIV (AASLT), Fort Campbell, KY; XVIII ABN Corps Artillery; 2d AR CAV REGT, Fort Polk, LA; 108th ADA, Fort Bliss, TX; 18th AVN BDE; 229th AVN REGT; 20th ENG BDE; 525th MI BDE; 16th MP BDE; 35th SIG BDE; 1st Corps SUP COM; 44th MED BDE; 18th FIN GRP; 18th Personnel GRP; and Dragon BDE, all located at Fort Bragg.
