virtual simulation
Definition/Scope: Form of simulation in which entities exist in effect or in essence, although not in actual form, so that sensing of or by other entities must be via the distributed interactive simulation (DIS) protocol data unit stream. When participation in a DIS exercise requires significant compromise of vehicle dynamics, the vehicle is then operating in the virtual mode.
