Veterans Educational Assistance Program
Definition/Scope: An educational funding program designed to assist post-Vietnam-era soldiers by matching contributions up to $2,700. The government then matched that by 2-to-1. The program ran from Jan. 1, 1977 to June 30, 1985. Persons entering the military after 1 July 1985 were subject to the Montgomery G.I. Bill.
