Definition/Scope: (1) In naval gunfire, A method of fire in which a number of weapons are fired at the same target simultaneously; the equivalent of an artillery volley. (2) In close air support/air interdiction operations, a method of delivery in which all ordnance of a specific type is discharged simultaneously. (3) In artillery fire, the discharge of all pieces in a battery or larger unit in quick sequence with a uniform time interval between rounds.
