mounted forces

Definition/Scope: Forces that project, deliver, and sustain combat power in a rapid, highly lethal, and survivable manner with sufficient combat power to occupy and control terrain to dominate adversaries within hostile environments during war and stability and support operations. They are capable of reconnaissance, either mounted or dismounted, and security operations, and have the ability to close with and defeat an enemy.
