Definition/Scope: Any physical recognizable forms or features of the Earth’s surface, having characteristic shapes, and produced by natural causes. Landforms include major forms such a plains, plateaus, and mountains and minor forms such as hills, valleys, slopes, glacial drift, and dunes. Taken together, landforms make up the surface configuration of the Earth.
