Joint Task Force
Definition/Scope: (JP 1-02) A joint force that is constituted and so designated by the Secretary of Defense, a combatant commander, a subunified commander, or an existing joint task force commander OLD VERSION A force composed of assigned or attached elements of two or more services and constituted by appropriate authority for a specific or limited purpose or missions of short duration. Usually identified by an alpha or numeric designation following JTF. The commander of a joint task force is designated as CJTF.
