High-Payoff Target
Definition/Scope: FM 1-02 has been superceded by ADRP 1-02. (ADRP 1-02) A target whose loss to the enemy will significantly contribute to the success of the friendly course of action. High-payoff targets are those high-value targets identified through wargaming that must be acquired and successfully attacked for the success of the friendly commander’s mission. JP 1-02 (Army) A target whose loss to the enemy will significantly contribute to the success of the friendly course of action. High-payoff targets are those high-value targets that must be acquired and successfully attacked for the success of the friendly commander’s mission. FM 1-02 and FM 3-21.21
