Greater Antilles (West Indies)

Definition/Scope: The four largest islands of the Antilles--Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico--lying north of the Lesser Antilles chain. They constitute nearly 90 percent of the total land area of the entire West Indies.
