FAIR Act, 1998
Definition/Scope: Army's Federal Activities Inventory Reform list. The FAIR Act of 1998 requires each federal agency to submit annually to the Office of Management and Budge (OMB) a list of job activities that are not inherently governmental. Following OMB review and consultation with the head of the agency, the lists are published in the Federal Register. The lists are used in a process of outsourcing work.
