Advanced Individual Training
Definition/Scope: AIT is where the soldiers attend training in their career field, military occupational specialty (MPS), which can vary from just a couple of weeks to 2 years. During the course of AIT soldiers are given more privileges and rewards for satisfactory performance. There are numerous AIT schools available with each one being for a specialized career. Some are intelligence (Fort Huachuca), military police (Fort Leonard Wood), field artillery (Fort Sill) to name a couple.
