MCTP major works with local veterans


 

"He talks about the way it is now, and I talk about the way it was then." That's how Gene Berry, a Korean War veteran, describes his relationship with Maj. Cedric Burden, observer/coach, trainer, Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Burden volunteers with Crossroads Hospice as a companion for Berry and a World War II veteran.

MCTP helps units prep for Afghan deployment

Fort Leavenworth’s Mission Command Training Program sent four operations groups to Germany and Fort Drum, N.Y., in support of the exercise United Endeavor 14-1 Oct. 1-18 to prepare staffs of units deploying to Afghanistan. United Endeavor 14-1 was designed to train the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters, the ISAF Joint Command Headquarters and the Regional Command East Headquarters by using computer simulations and role players to create a realistic training environment.      MCTP trains U.S. and ROK Forces


What is MCTP? U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command's (TRADOC's) Mission Command Training Program, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., supports combined arms training that replicates joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational operations in a Decisive Action Training Environment. The Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) uses constructive simulations to train commanders and staffs of Army service component commands, corps, divisions, functional and multifunctional brigades as well as theater and expeditionary sustainment commands.
