Directorate of Training and Strategy (DOTS)


MCCoE DOTS integrates and synchronizes Army Mission Command Strategy (AMCS) implementation and develops products and services that support DOTMLPF MC capability development to prepare Army leaders, Soldiers, and units to successfully exercise MC during the execution of Unified Land Operations.


Purpose is to integrate and synchronize MC ways and means into MC DOTMLPF capability development ends with special emphasis on integrating and synchronizing doctrine-based MC training and education into leader development.

DOTS Responsibilities and Functions

  1. Develop, manage, and implement the Army Mission Command Strategy (AMCS).

  2. Develop, integrate, and evaluate Mission Command training and education solutions for use across the institutional, operational and self-development domains (within capacity and capabilities).

  3. Execute designated Mission Command functional training.

  4. Support strategic working groups that develop the future of Mission Command, Unified Land Operations (ULO), or Echelons above Brigade (EAB) Combined Arms; develop, manage, and implement strategies as appropriate.

  5. Continually assess sufficiency of Mission Command DOTMLPF plans, concepts, and solutions to insure they account for an effective balance between the art and science of Mission Command (TR 71-20, para. 2-16a).
