International Hall of Fame Ceremony October 2nd, 2008
Four international officer graduates of the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College were inducted into the International Hall of Fame (IHoF) at the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth Oct. 2. The inductees are: Gen. Jeremiah Mutinda Kianga, Chief of the General Staff of the Kenya Armed Forces; Lt. Gen. Robert A.C. Bertholee, Commander of the Royal Netherlands Army; Lt. Gen. Teodor Frunzeti, Chief of Staff of Land Forces Romania; and Brig. Gen. Edmund E. Dillon, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
The International Hall of Fame was established in 1973 jointly between USACGSC, The Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars, and the CGSC Alumni Association (now CGSC Foundation). To be considered for induction the officer must be a resident graduate of CGSC who, through military merit, attained one of the highest positions of military importance in his country’s armed forces. Fifteen IHOF inductees have also gone on to become the chief executive of their country. Honored members are inducted according to precedence established by the year of their graduation.
Inductees are presented a CGSC honor certificate by the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) representative and, a Life Constituent Certificate and eagle statuette from the CGSC Foundation. Their framed portrait is displayed, along with previous members, in the International Hall of Fame located on the 3rd floor of Lewis & Clark Center, Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
