Under Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy visited the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center (CAC) at Fort Leavenworth February 21. The purpose of the visit was receive briefings on CAC initiatives and to address U.S. Army Command and General Staff College students. Pictured left to right: CW5 Richard R. Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) analysts recently traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in support of the U.S. Military Training Mission effort to assist the Saudi Armed Forces (SAF) in developing a lessons learned program. The CALL team provided briefings and facilitated discussions with a selected group of 33 SAF officers on the elements of a lessons learned program and how it can be used to improve operations, training, and education across their force.

Maj. Gen. Chris Hughes, commander of U.S. Army Cadet Command, kicked off the George C. Marshall seminar at the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center's Lewis & Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth. Throughout the seminar, cadets took part in seminars and round table discussions with Army and Defense experts on critical defense and geopolitical matters, and the profession of arms. The exposure to contemporary civilian and military leaders at a high level provides these cadets unique opportunities they have not received during their college ROTC curriculum.

U.S. Army Combined Arms Center Commanding General Lt. Gen. Michael D. Lundy had a professional discussion with officers from the Buffalo Soldier chapter of ROCKS, Inc. at Fort Leavenworth Feb. 1. The ROCKS organization provides developmental guidance to members of the Army officer corps and ROTC cadets. Topics ranged from the changing operational environment, FM 3-0 and large scale combat operations, and some observations on what it takes to be a successful field grade officer in the Army of the present and future.
