The Commissar's House uses historical case study in large-scale combat operations against a peer threat to illuminate contemporary challenges in context with current U.S. Army doctrine.

President and CEO of the Florida Panthers Hockey Club, Matthew Caldwell, spoke about energetic leadership and defining organizational culture during the Army Leader Exchange presentation August 10 in the Lewis and Clark Center's Arnold Conference Room. Caldwell is also an Army veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The Command and General Staff College (CGSC) opened the Academic Year with the International Flag Ceremony for Command and General Staff Officer's Course 2019 on Aug. 13. The ceremony features posting of the national colors of 87 nations that make up this year's International Military Student cohort. 110 International Military Students are attending the course this year.

The Combined Arms Center and Army University Press present: "Stalingrad: The Battle for the Martenovskii Shop." Using the recently developed Battle of Stalingrad Virtual Staff Ride, Army University Press developed a multimedia historical documentary of the battle through the lens of current doctrine. Army University Press produced this documentary to make "history come to life" while illustrating doctrinal points of large scale combat operations from FM 3-0 and other doctrinal publications. The first video series examines the Battle of Stalingrad and the challenges of operating in dense urban terrain. The first episode of the Stalingrad series analyzes the Battle for the Martenovskii Shop of the Red October Factory.
