As International Military Student Division Director James Fain narrates, Maj. Per-Olaf Johan Nordin of Sweden salutes his country’s flag in the international flag opening day ceremony for the Command and General Staff Officer Course Aug. 5 in Eisenhower Auditorium at the Lewis and Clark Center. Michael Formica, Deputy to the Commanding General for the Combined Arms Center, talks about the Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1 (ADRP 1 - The Army Profession) during the Army Management Staff College’s Continuing Education for Senior Leaders course July 31, 2019 in Eisenhower Hall, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Funk II, Commander U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, addressed the Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Course at the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., July 11, 2019, for the first time since taking his current position. PCC prepares battalion and brigade command teams by providing information on policies, programs and procedures critical to success in these demanding leadership positions. Salute battery members fire rounds during the Salute to the Union portion of the Fort Leavenworth Independence Day celebration July 4, 2019 at Merritt Lake. The Combined Arms Center, in a collaborative effort led by the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate and supported by the Army Training Support Center, Mobile Learning Division and the Enterprise Multimedia Center, released its first doctrine audiobook as part of a pilot program to assess use of the medium for Army doctrine. The first publication produced as an audiobook is Field Manual 3-0, Operations, a manual that marked the shift in the Army’s focus towards large-scale combat operations when published in October 2017.
