Family Life Ministry is an outreach of the Installation religious program providing marriage and family enrichment activities. These include a marriage enrichment retreat and a marriage and family Sunday School Class through the Protestant Adult Sunday School. Also included are parenting classes for the community, support groups, and individual, marital, and family counseling.

The counseling at Family Life Center reaches out to assist individuals, couples and families who are going through personal, social or emotional problems and stress. The pastoral counselor is clinically trained in the area of individual, marriage and family counseling and offers:

  • Pastoral counseling: This counseling acknowledges the interaction between psychological, moral and spiritual factors in an individual's life. These aspects are used in counseling to reach a solution to problems.

  • Pastoral care: This deals more generally with times of personal crisis, life transitions, grief and loss. This also focuses on wellness and wholeness in non-crisis times.

  • Spiritual counseling: Explores spiritual and ethical issues within the context of the person's religious faith.

The Family Life Chaplain can help you work through:

  • marriage problems

  • parent-child conflicts

  • personal adjustment difficulties

  • grief

  • low self-esteem

  • family problems

  • divorce issues

  • crisis events

  • blended families
