TCM Virtual serves as the Army's principal user representative for virtual simulations and associated training. TCM Virtual plans, manages and integrates the Army's capability development activities for virtual simulators, simulations and associated components of virtual training. TCM Virtual provides virtual training support for the generating force and operational Army to train for Unified Land Operations ensuring current and future virtual training requirements are validated, documented and prioritized.

How TCM Virtual helps the Army

  • Serves as the user representative for:
    •           Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Training (AVCATT)
    •           Non-rated Crew Member Manned Module (NCM3)
    •           Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT)
    •           Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer (RVTT)
    •           Dismounted Soldier Training System (DSTS)
    •           Engagement Skills Trainer II (EST II)
    •           Call for Fire Trainer II (CFTT II)
    •           Basic Electronics Maintenance Trainer (BEMT)
    •           Virtual Clearance Training Suite (VCTS)
    •           Common Driver Trainer (CDT)
    •           Synthetic Environment Core (SE Core)
  • Executes responsibilities outlined in TRADOC Regulations 71-12, 71-20 and TCM Virtual Charter.
  • Provides oversight for prioritizing, fielding, testing, evaluation and utilization of virtual simulators and simulations.
  • Provides centralized total system management and integration of all DOTMLPF- RIO considerations.
  • Monitors total system development, testing and evaluation, corrective actions, acquisition and fielding of assigned programs.
  • Reviews, develops, staffs and gains approval for capability documents and other TRADOC DOTMLPF-RIO products.
  • Identifies system deficiencies to the materiel developers for corrective action.
  • Works with materiel developers to prepare the Army Progran Objective Memorandum.
  • Identifies science and technology initiatives for application to virtual training.
  • Participates in source selection.
  • Supports Overseas Contingency Operations providing relevant virtual simulations.
  • Ensures concurrency in virtual training systems.

Top Priorities

  • Ensuring that virtual Training Aids Devices Simulators and Simulations support Soldiers preparing for war, and training at home stations and deployed locations.
  • Executing FY14 program budgets and preparing the FY16-20 Program Objective Memorandum build.
  • Supporting Live, Virtual, Constructive –Integrating Architecture (LVC-IA) capabilities by including CCTT, RVTT and AVCATT.
  • Adding capabilities to the LVC-IA with the DSTS in FY15 and CFFT in FY17.
  • Maintaining simulation quality and concurrency.
  • Fielding new versions of DSTS, NCM3 and VCTS.
  • Managing the introduction of a virtual collective Stryker training capability.
  • Developing a virtual brigade collective trainer with simulation capability to CCTT.
  • Helping to develop the distributed exercise capability of AVCATT, CCTT and CFFT among the Centers of Excellence and Schools.
